Pecan cake recipe details
Ingredients
300 g | flour |
400 g | sugar |
300 ml | vegetable oil |
2 ½ tsp | cinnamon |
2 tsp | hot water |
4 medium | eggs, separated |
60 g | pecans, chopped |
200 ml | applesauce |
powdered sugar |
Instructions
Combine the flour, sugar, oil, applesauce, cinnamon, water, and egg yolks. Mix with an electric mixer at medium speed. Stir in chopped pecans.In a separate bowl beat egg whites until stiff and then fold into batter.
Pour mixture into an ungreased pan and bake at 180°C for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Invert pan and cool cake completely; remove from pan.
Sprinkle top of cake with powdered sugar.
