Ingredients
4 | pears, peeled, quartered, cored |
600 ml | cider |
140 g | apricot jam |
50 g | brown sugar |
1 stick(s) | cinnamon |
1 pinch(es) | ginger, ground |
Instructions
Combine the cider with the jam, sugar, cinnamon stick and ginger in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer for a few minutes, stirring frequently.
Add pears to the saucepan. Cover and simmer for at least 30 minutes or until the pears are soft. Remove the pears and set aside.
Discard cinnamon stick, put heat on high and cook sauce, whilst stirring, until reduced by half. Pour sauce over the pears allow to cool.
Serve either warm or cold with whipping cream or ice cream.
