Peach kuchen recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Criscoshortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup milk
- Two 29-ounce cans of sliced peaches (I sometimes have to slice into smaller pieces)
- Streusel
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup softened butter
Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually, then add beaten egg. Sift dry ingredients. Add vanilla to milk. Add flour and milk alternately to sugar mixture and beat well. Spread batter in greased and floured 15 x 11-inch cookie sheet with sides. Add peaches and cover with streusel topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve with ice cream or fresh cream.
Leftovers can be frozen or recipe can be halved.
