Pasties meat pies recipe details
Ingredients
short crust pastry | |
350 g | minced beef |
1 large | onion, chopped |
2 medium | carrots, peeled, chopped |
2 large | potatoes |
200 ml | water |
1 | beef stock cube |
1 medium | egg, beaten |
Instructions
Fry minced beef and drain excess fat. Beat egg and set aside.Add the onion, carrots, and potatoes. Add water and stock cube and cook on a simmer for 20-30 minutes. When meet and vegetables are cooked through, remove from heat.
Preheat oven to 200°C.
Roll out pastry and cut into squares. Place some of the filling into the centre of each square. Bring sides together as if forming a triangle and pinch along seam. Brush with a little beaten egg and bake for about 20 minutess.
Serve hot or cold.
