Pasta with spicy tomato sauce recipe details
Ingredients
1 tbsp | olive oil |
350 g | bacon, short cut, rindless or speck |
350 g | onions, diced |
5 clove(s) | garlic, finely sliced |
3 small | red chillies, finely sliced |
800 g | tomatoes, canned, diced, |
some | black pepper, freshly ground |
pinch(es) | dried oregano, marjoram and rosemary |
70 g | Parmesan cheese, freshly grated |
Instructions
Heat the oil on medium heat in a pan and fry the bacon until becoming crispy.Stir in the onions, garlic, chillies and fry until the onions are glazed.
Add the tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Season to taste with the dried herbs and pepper.
Stir in 25 g of the cheese and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes or longer.
Serve with pasta of your choice and the remaining cheese.
Tip: Substitute the canned tomatoes with ripe, red, peeled and diced tomatoes.
