Oven baked swiss chard pie recipe details
Ingredients
1 kg | Swiss chard, stalks and leaves cut into stripes |
1 pack(s) | puff pastry |
3 clove(s) | garlic, mashed |
200 g | cream cheese |
2 | tomatoes, thinly sliced |
2 tbsp | tomato puree |
1 tbsp | oil |
200 g | grated Gouda cheese |
1 tsp | instant vegetable stock |
salt and pepper | |
nutmeg |
Instructions
In a saucepan, cover the chard stems with boiling water. Add the instant stock and cook until nearly done. Add the leaves and cook for another minute. Chill in cold water and drain.Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Mix together the cooked chard, cream cheese, tomato purée and garlic. Stir in the oil and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Line a pie dish with the puff pastry. Place the mixture into the pie dish and top with the tomatoes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 25-35 minutes.
