Oven baked cheddar potato cake recipe details
Ingredients
25 g | butter |
1 ½ kg | potatoes, thinly sliced |
1 medium | onion, thinly sliced |
250 g | Cheddar cheese, grated |
salt and pepper | |
mixed salad leaves |
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C.Grease a 20cm cake tin with butter.
Arrange potatoes, onion and grated cheese in alternating layers in the cake tin until they are all used up, season, and finish with a layer of potatoes.
Dot the remaining butter over the top, then transfer to the preheated oven and bake for about one hour until potatoes are tender and golden brown on the surface.
Let potatoes cool for at least fifteen minutes before removing from cake tin. Cut the potato cake into wedges and serve warm with mixed salad leaves.
