Orange coffee cake recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1 cup margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup dairy sour cream
- 2 cups flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
- Grated rind of 1 orange, and juice of 1/2 orange
- Ingredients for Topping:
- 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar
- Juice of 1 orange
Cream together margarine and sugar until fluffy, add eggs and beat well. Add sour cream. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder and add to mixture along with rind, juice of orange and extract. Beat all together until well blended, (batter will be very thick). Spoon into well-greased tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for about an hour. Remove from oven, cool 10 minutes, and turn out on plate.
Topping:Mix confectioners sugar and juice of orange. While cake is still warm, pour over cake.
