Onion cranberry sauce recipe details
Ingredients
700 g | cranberries |
450 ml | water |
400 g | brown sugar |
80 g | onions, chopped |
60 g | butter |
4 tbsp | lemon juice |
1 tbsp | ginger, ground, to taste |
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine all ingredients except onions and butter. Bring to a boil and cook about 5 minutes until cranberries pop open.Sauté onions in butter until tender. Add to cranberries and purée in a blender.
Use this sauce to coat game birds or poultry with the sauce in the last half hour of roasting.
Warm the remaining sauce and serve in a sauceboat with the meal.
