Ingredients

300 g gram flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ground coriander
½ tsp garam masala
½ tsp salt
chilli powder
5 tbsp sunflower oil
750 ml oil for deep-frying
400 g onions, peeled and cut into thin rings
400 g yoghurt
150 g sour cream
½ bunch(es) parsley, chopped

Instructions

Mix the yoghurt with the sour cream and the parsley. Season to taste with salt, turmeric and chilli powder.

In a bowl, mix the gram flour with baking powder, the spices, salt, the sunflower oil and a glass of water and work with the hooks of your electric mixer until a smooth and thick batter has formed. If too firm, add more water. Stir the onion rings into the batter.

In a saucepan, heat the oil and deep-fry tablespoonfuls of the mixture until golden and crispy. Drain on kitchen paper and serve with the yoghurt sauce.
