Old time rice pudding recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup long grain rice (scant)
- 4 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup of raisins
Combine rice, milk, sugar and salt; pour into a greased baking dish. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Then add lemon peel, nutmeg and raisins and bake for another 2 hours. It is very rich and creamy. This rice pudding is an old family recipe. It takes a long time to bake, but it is definitely worth the effort.
