Okra side dish recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | okra, sliced |
2 | rashers bacon |
1 small | onion, chopped |
½ | green pepper, chopped |
2 stalk(s) | celery, chopped |
400 g | tomatoes, chopped |
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste |
Instructions
In a frying pan, cook the bacon until brown. Take the rashers out of the pan, chop and set aside.Fry okra, onions, green peppers and celery in the bacon dripping until tender. Stir in the tomatoes. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Cook the mixture for 2-4 minutes, then stir in the bacon and serve.
