- Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups oats
- 1-1/2 cups boiling water
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- 3 Tablespoons honey
- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 Tablespoons yeast
- 2 eggs
- 4 to 5 cups unbleached white flour
- Filling:
- 3 Tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup sugar combined with
- 2 Tablespoons cinnamon
Instructions:
Combine oats and boiling water. Add next five ingredients. Let cool until warm (about 100 degrees). Add yeast, eggs, and flour. Combine. Knead for about 10 minutes. Put in greased bow, cover and let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and cut in half. Roll out each half into a rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Roll up. Tuck in ends and place in a greased loaf pan. Allow to rise until double in size. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on racks. Brush with additional melted butter if desired.
