Oaks homestyle granola recipe details
- Ingredients
- 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup wheat germ
- 1 cup sunflower seed
- 1 cup Special Kcereal
- 1 cub broken walnuts
- 1 cup broken pecans
- 1 cup almonds (sliced)
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon pure vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup golden raisins
- 1 cup dried cranberries or cherries
Mix together the rolled oats, coconut, wheat germ, sunflower seed, cereal, broken walnuts, broken pecans, and sliced almonds. Heat the the olive oil, honey, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until brown sugar melts. Cool slightly. Pour honey mixture over grain mix, tossing lightly until coated.
Spread on a foil-lined baking pan and bake in pre-heated 350-degree oven, stirring often, until cereal is a light, golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes. When nearly cool, add raisins and the cranberries/cherries. Let cool completely and store in air-tight container in refrigerator.
Serve with fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or fresh peaches with vanilla yogurt, skim/whole milk. Garnish with fresh mint.
