Ingredients

500 g mutton shoulder, cut into cubes
1  leek, sliced
250 g turnip, peeled and sliced
1  carrot, sliced
2  onions, sliced
1  bay leaf
½ l lamb stock
1 sprig(s) fresh thyme, finely chopped leaves
salt and pepper
2 tbsp butter

Instructions

In a saucepan, heat the butter. Add the meat and cook over medium heat until browned all around. Stir in the vegetables and the bay leaf and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, turning frequently.

Add the stock and bring to a boil. Season with salt, pepper and thyme. Reduce the heat and stew for 30 minutes. Check seasoning and correct, if necessary.

Serve with potatoes.
