Ingredients
2 cup(s) | onions, chopped lengthwise |
1 cup(s) | mushrooms |
2 | tomatoes |
1 tbsp | ginger garlic paste |
turmeric powder, a generous pinch | |
½ tbsp | coriander powder |
¾ tbsp | chili powder |
1 tsp | garam masala powder |
1 tbsp | fresh cream |
2 tbsp | coriander leaves |
2 tbsp | oil |
salt, to taste |
Instructions
Grind ╝ cup onions to a fine paste. Heat oil in a pan and sautee the onion paste and the ginger garlic paste until lightly browned. Add the onions and sautee till browned. Grind the tomatoes to a paste and add it. Mix well and sautee until the raw smell of the tomatoes ceases. Add chili, turmeric, garam masala and coriander powders. Mix well and sautee till it is dry.Now add the cleaned mushrooms and sautee for a few minutes. The mushrooms give out water, add more water at this stage, if required. Keep closed and cook until the mushrooms turn soft.
Add cream, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and switch off.
Serve with roti, naan or hot steamed rice and dhal.
Note:
You may substitute 2 teaspoons of milk for the cream.
