Mountain man french toast recipe recipe details
- Ingredients
- One 8-ounce package brown-and-serve sausage patties
- 2 kiwi fruit
- 1 pint strawberries
- 3 to 4 bananas
- One 8-ounce loaf Italian bread (about 16 inches long)
- 1/4 pound sliced Muenster cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- Oil for pan
- Warm maple syrup
Prepare fruit and sausages. Cut bread on the diagonal into 1-1/2 inch slices. With a small serrated knife, cut a deep pocket in each slice. Cut cheese and sausage patties into pieces that fit into bread pockets. Fill to the top. Mix eggs, milk, and sugar in a baking dish; add filled bread slices. Turn slices occasionally so both sides absorb egg mixture. Brown in skillet. Serve with fruit and maple syrup.
