Minced meat and onion tart recipe details
Ingredients
5 medium | eggs |
5 | red onions, sliced |
400 g | beef mince |
3 sprig(s) | thyme, chopped |
250 ml | single cream |
150 g | flour |
90 g | butter |
2 tbsp | oil |
salt and freshly ground black pepper | |
nutmeg | |
paprika powder |
Instructions
In a bowl combine one egg with a pinch of salt, the flour and the butter. Knead until the dough is well combined. Cover and allow to stand for 30 minutes.In a pan heat one tablespoon of oil. Sauté the onions until lucent. Remove from the pan and set aside. Heat another tablespoon of oil. Add the minced meat and fry until crumbly. Season to taste with salt, pepper and paprika powder.
Whisk the remaining eggs with the cream. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir in the thyme.
Roll out the pastry on a floured surface and line a buttered tart form. Top with the onions and the minced meat. Pour over the cream and egg mixture and bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 30-35 minutes.
