Meat Ball Sandwich recipe

Ingredients
500 g | ground beef |
1 small | onion, finely chopped |
1 | egg |
5 tbsp | bread crumbs |
1 tsp | oregano |
1 tsp | parsley |
1 tsp | salt |
½ tsp | pepper |
500 l | tomato sauce |
200 g | mozzarella cheese |
4 piece(s) | french bread, each about 20cm long |
Instructions
Mix the ground beef with all ingredients except the sauce, the mozzarella and the bread. Form 8 or 12 small meat balls.In a frying pan heat about 1 tbsp. of oil, and brown the meat balls from all sides.
At the same time heat up your favourite tomato sauce or my ‘Pizza Sauce Margherita’.
Preheat oven to 180C.
Slice the bread lengthwise, open it up and spoon a little of the sauce into the bread. Set the meat balls on top of the sauce. Slice the mozzarella and put the slices on the meat balls. Add the rest of the sauce. Bake in the oven until the cheese starts melding, about 15mins.
Serve with a side salad.
