- Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup currant
- 6 Tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 shot scotch
- 1 egg
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until the dough becomes like a fine crumb. Add currants. Combine milk, syrup, scotch, and egg. Mix well. Add to dry ingredients, and knead gently, to form a nice biscuit dough. Divide dough in half, and pat each ball into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut circle into 8 pie shape wedges. Bake 15 minutes at 425 degrees on an ungreased cookie sheet.
