Marmite soldiers and boiled egg recipe details
Ingredients
2 slice(s) | white bread, best home made bread and cut with a bread knife |
1 | butter and only butter, none of these fancy |
2 tsp | Marmite |
1 | soft-boiled egg |
Instructions
Spread the butter on both slices of the bread. Spread one teaspoon of the Marmite on each slice. Cut each covered slice of bread in half, then cut each half into four strips. These are the soldiers.Knock off the top of the soft-boiled egg and dip the soldier into the yolk and eat, watched lovingly by mother (either literally or in your mind’s eye).
A variation is to toast the bread first.
