My wife was visiting her mother when she first tasted Margie’s chili, and liked it so much she felt compelled to call Margie and tell her how much she liked it. “I can tell it’s the kind of chili that simmers on the back of the stove all afternoon,” she said. Margie laughed and said, “Let me send you the recipe.” If it isn’t the best chili you ever tasted, it’s the best that’s anywhere near this quick and easy to prepare.
Ready in: 40 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 6- 3 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 (2 ounce) packages chili seasoning (hot, medium or mild to taste)
- 3 cups water
- 4 (15 ounce) Ranch Style(R) Texas Beans, with liquid
- 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 30 mins1. Cook ground beef and onion in dutch oven or large saucepan over medium heat until meat is cooked all the way through, about 10 minutes.
2. Add other ingredients, stir together, cover and simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Freezes well, and tastes even better when reheated.
