Make ya smile sliders recipe details
I have made these a few times. Every time I’ve made them, they were gone as soon as I served them. Super good, pretty easy if you’re a MAN, and a blast to serve. These burgers have the salty, tangy, sweet, thing going on. They rock.
Ready in: 4 hours 30 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1 pound ground beef, 80-percent
- 2 red onions
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 to 2 cups chicken stock
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 8 strips bacon, cooked and cooled
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- Sliced sharp Cheddar cheese
- 12-16 small slider size buns (dinner rolls work fine)
- Salt and fresh cracked pepper
Preparation method
Prep: 1 hour | Cook: 30 mins | Extra time: 3 hours, other1. To caramelize your onions, cut off both ends of the onion. Peel the paper layer off and cut in half. Then cut into strips, starting on one of the ends.
2. Place all of the sliced onion into a frying pan set on Medium-Medium High heat. Add butter and a little chicken stock if you have it. Cook the onions slowly. Adding stock or butter as you see fit. You want the onions to turn a brown color. When I do this it can take a couple of hours. Do not rush your onions.
3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
4. Arrange the bacon on a wire cooling rack set on top of a sheet pan. Before you put the bacon in the oven, sprinkle it with brown sugar. Bake for 20 minutes. When you remove the pan from the oven, place the bacon, sugar side up, on a paper towel to cool.
5. Take some of the bacon grease and add it to the burger meat. A few tablespoons should be enough. Add salt and pepper to your beef to your own taste.
6. Form your patties to be a little bit bigger than your buns and place on a plate lined with wax paper. Once all of your patties are formed put them in the refrigerator.
7. Heat the skillet on Medium-Medium High heat.
8. Lay all of the buns out on a sheet pan. On the bottom part of the bun, add some of the shredded cabbage. Add a few sprinkles of apple cider vinegar to the cabbage. It will soak into the bun a little. Add mayonnaise to the top half of the bun.
9. Take burgers from the refrigerator and begin to cook them on both sides.
10. After your second flip of the burgers, add bacon, then add caramelized onions on top of the bacon. Then place a slice of cheese on top of that.
11. Take a lid large enough for your skillet, and just before you put in on the skillet, take a little bit of water and put it into the skillet. Then put the lid down. This will steam the cheese so it melts perfectly. BE CAREFUL when removing the lid. There will be steam coming out and it CAN BURN YOU IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL.
12. Once cheese is melted you are ready to plate. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!
