Ingredients
1 pound butter
5 cups sugar
8 cups flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
5 medium eggs
7-1/2 cups buttermilk
4 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 cup boiling water
8 ounces bran
2 ounces Grape Nutscereal
Instructions:

Melt butter. Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add bran and cereal and mix well in large bowl. Beat eggs in another large bowl. Add buttermilk and beat well. Add melted butter. Add boiling water to baking soda and pour into other liquids. Add liquids to dry ingredients; stir just enough to blend.

For mini muffins, bake at 425 degrees in lightly greased pans for 12 minutes. For regular muffins, bake at 425 degrees in lightly greased pans for 20 to 25 minutes. The unbaked mixture will keep up to 6 weeks refrigerated in tightly covered containers.
