- Ingredients
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
- 2 egg whites

Combine all ingredients except egg whites. Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until peaks form. Put egg whites into main mixture, gently folding in — just barely mixed. Place in ovenproof dish and set that dish into a larger ovenproof dish containing water. Water in dish should be about 1 inch deep when smaller dish is set into it. Bake for about an hour in hot oven (325 to 350 degrees) until golden brown.
