Lemon sauce details
- Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 Tablespoons freshly grated lemon zest
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
In heavy saucepan, stir together with sugar, cornstarch, and water. Cook, stirring quite often, until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat and add butter, zest, and juice. Let cool about 1/2 hour before serving. Keeps well in refrigerator for up to 1 week. Easy to reheat in microwave.
