Lawn tao jieaw recipe details
Ingredients
100 g | yellow beans, fermented (preserved) |
250 ml | coconut milk |
150 g | minced pork |
15 | chilies, red, yellow and green , Prik Chee fah (finger long) |
4 tbsp | shallots, Thai type |
2 ½ tbsp | tamarind juice or lemon juice |
1 tsp | salt |
5 tbsp | spring onions, Thai type |
vegetables of your choice, e.g. cucumber, winged beans, cabbage |
Instructions
Rinse the yellow beans well, chop and ground them in a mortar or process in a blender. Some like them very smooth, others prefer more texture, this is up to you. Slice the chilies and chop the shallots and spring onions.Transfer the pork mince with the coconut milk into a small pot and bring to a boil. Add the yellow beans, and simmer for about 5 minutes or until the pork is done. Add sugar, salt, tamarind juice and stir until well combined. Add the shallots and chilies and season to taste with tamarind juice and sugar.
Serve the dip with the vegetables of your choice as a snack, or as part of a Thai menu.
