Kumquat cocktail with sparkling wine recipe details
Ingredients
15 | kumquats |
200 g | sugar |
200 ml | water |
2 bottle(s) | sparkling wine |
ice cubes or crushed ice |
Instructions
Put the kumquats into boiling water for 30-60 seconds. Remove and plunge into cold water, then drain. Slice your kumquats as thin as possible and put the seeds aside.Bring the water with the sugar to the boil, add the sliced kumquats and simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes. Remove the mixture from heat and let cool. Pour in a jug and keep the syrup in the fridge until required.
To serve:
Place every 1-2 ice cubes in 12 large champagne glasses, pour some kumquat syrup in each glass and fill up with the sparkling wine.
Note:
If desired, you can also prepare the syrup in advance, it will last in a cool place for 3 days.
