The star of Spartacusrevealed his favorite meatloaf recipe in an airline magazine in the 1970s. Try it out yourself and see if it makes you ready for gladiating.

Ingredients
Serves: 8
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground veal
- 1 pound ground pork
- 3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 6 ounces V8(R) juice
- 3 strips bacon
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 1 hour 30 mins
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Gently mix all ingredients (except bacon) together in a bowl. Pack into a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
3. Arrange bacon slices on top of the meatloaf. Bake for 1 1/2 hours, until meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
