Ingredients

Serves: 4
  • 1 large red onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup red wine

  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • pinch sugar
  • dash dried oregano
  • dash cinnamon
  • dash cayenne pepper

Preparation method

Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 1 hour 45 mins

1. Saute onion and garlic with olive oil over medium heat. Once nearly translucent, add wine. A few minutes later, add in all tomato products and bring to simmer over medium-low heat. Add all remaining ingredients and simmer for at least an hour, preferably 1 1/2 hours.
