Keith's bosox chili recipe details
An easy chili recipe you can make mild, medium or hot at will.

Ingredients
Serves: 16- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 pounds 90% lean ground sirloin
- 2 hot Italian sausages (fresh – store made)
- 12 ounces chopped red onion
- 3 cloves chopped garlic
- 4 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans (drained)
- 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
- distilled white vinegar (liberal splash)
- 1 heaping tablespoon salt
- 1 heaping tablespoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 3 tablespoons cayenne (red pepper)
- 4 tablespoons crushed red pepper
- 1 1/2 cups straight tomato juice
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 3 hours | Extra time: 10 mins1. Heat oil in 4 quart pot and brown meat, chopped sausage, onion, and garlic. Drain if needed but, if you use the good stuff, very little draining will be necessary.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients, stir, and cook over low/medium heat for the length of an average baseball game (3 hours) stirring occasionally. At the end, add more cayenne or crushed red pepper to increase the kick as desired…enjoy!!
