Ingredients

  1. Potatoes – ½ kg (small)
  2. Yogurt – ½ kg
  3. Green cardamoms (sabz ilaichi) – 6
  4. Cloves (loung) – 6
  5. Dry kashmiri chillies – 3
  6. Onion – 1
  7. Coriander (sabut dhania) – 1 tbsp
  8. Cumin seeds (zeera) – 1 tbsp
  9. Fennel seeds (sounf) – 1 tbsp
  10. Black peppercorns (sabut kali mirch) – 2 tsp
  11. Hot spices powder(garam masala) – 2 tsp
  12. German chilli paste (pissi hoi degi mirch) – 2 tsp
  13. Turmeric (haldi) – 1 tsp
  14. Ginger/garlic paste – 2 tsp
  15. Salt – to taste
  16. Oil – as required

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes, do not peel
  2. Cut onion fine
  3. Heat oil in a wok (karahi) and fry ginger/garlic paste, cumin seeds, fennel, coriander, black pepper and onion in it
  4. Add yogurt, green cardamoms, cloves, dry kashmiri chillies, hot spices, german chillies and turmeric and cook for 3 minutes
  5. Add boiled potatoes, and salt
  6. Cover the pot and cook on low flame
  7. Serve hot
