Irish coffee marinated rib eye steaks recipe details
Ingredients
50 g | sun-dried tomatoes in oil, diced |
½ | lemon, zest grated |
1 tsp | chili powder |
200 g | butter, soft |
salt and freshly ground black pepper | |
sugar | |
75 ml | strong coffee, warm |
4 tbsp | whiskey |
4 tsp | Tabasco sauce |
6 | rib-eye steaks |
1 ½ kg | potatoes, peeled |
2 tbsp | oil |
Instructions
Mix the sun-dried tomatoes with chili and the butter. Season with salt, pepper and sugar. Place the butter mixture onto a piece of foil and shape to a roll. Wrap and place into the fridge.In a bowl, mix together the coffee, whiskey, ½ teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of pepper and the Tabasco sauce. Turn the meat in the mixture and marinate for an hour.
Cook the potatoes in salted water for 15-20 minutes. Drain and halve the potatoes. Preheat an oven broiler or a grill. Place the potatoes onto a lined baking tray and brush with oil. Season with salt and pepper. Grill the potatoes for 6-7 minutes.
Grill the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side or to the doneness you like, basting several times with the remaining marinade.
Serve the steaks with the potatoes and the tomato butter.
