Philly? Yeah, we know a shortcut. Make the classic cheesesteak using pre-cooked roast beef.
Ready in: 20 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 4- 2 French rolls, split
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 cup thinly sliced green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced onion
- 2/3 pound sliced cooked roast beef
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 8 slices Pepper Jack cheese
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 10 mins1. On each cut side of the rolls, coat with butter.
2. Heat broiler to Medium.
3. Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the green pepper, onion, salt, and pepper to the hot oil and cook, stirring, about 5 minutes until all veggies have softened. Remove from skillet and cover to keep it all warm.
4. Next, heat up the remaining oil in the same skillet you used for the onions and peppers. Stir in the beef and hot sauce, flipping often, until the beef is hot.
5. On each half of the rolls, place some of the beef, some of the pepper-onion mixture, and a slice of the cheese. Broil for about 3 minutes to melt the cheese, salt and pepper to taste and serve.
