Hot fruit compote recipe details
- Ingredients
- One 20-ounce can pineapple chunks
- One 16-ounce can peach halves
- One 16-ounce can pear halves
- One 16-ounce can apricot halves
- 1 jar maraschino cherries
- Orange Sauce
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 Tablespoons orange rind
Drain canned fruit and cherries and arrange in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish, putting cherries in the hollows. Set aside.
Orange Sauce: Combine ingredients in saucepan. Heat to boiling. Remove from heat.
Pour sauce over fruit compote and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (2-quart casserole can be used instead of the 13 x 9 x 2-inch dish.)
