Hot bacon dressing recipe details
Ingredients
2 slice(s) | bacon, chopped |
2 tbsp | flour |
2 tbsp | sugar |
½ tsp | dry mustard |
¼ tsp | salt |
180 ml | milk |
1 medium | egg, yolk only |
60 ml | cider vinegar |
Instructions
Fry bacon in a saucepan over medium heat until crisp. Dry with paper towels to drain. Reserve drippings in pan.Combine flour, sugar, mustard and salt in a small bowl, gradually add the milk and briefly beat with an electric mixture until smooth.
Add milk mixture to bacon drippings and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Beat yolk in bowl and gradually beat some of the milk mixture into the egg. Then return mixture to the saucepan and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and stir in vinegar. Crumble bacon and add into dressing.
Serving suggestion:Serve over green lettuce leaves as a starter or appetizer.
