Homemade cassis recipe details
Ingredients
1 kg | blackcurrants, trimmed |
1 l | vodka or more |
pulp of a vanilla pod | |
1 | piece of ginger |
500 g | candied sugar |
Instructions
Place the fresh blackcurrants into a large jar with lid and mash the berries a little. Add the vanilla pulp and pod, ginger, sugar and enough vodka to cover all completely. Close the lid. Allow to soak at a cool and dark place for at least 2 months.Strain through a sieve, lined with cheesecloth and bottle the cassis.
