Ready in: 1 hour
Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion, minced
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup fine bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoons Worchestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 (26 ounce) jar tomato sauce
Preparation method
Prep: 25 mins | Cook: 35 mins1. Pre-heat a large non-stick fry pan over medium heat and add beef and onion. Cook until the meat is no longer pink and the onions are soft. Drain and refrigerate to cool. In a large bowl, mix together the rest of the ingredients except the olive oil until well-blended. Add the meat/onion mixture and blend together until totally incorporated. Form meatballs in a uniform ball about the size of a golf ball. The mixture should be soft but if it’s too wet to form solid balls, add more bread crumbs.
2. Wipe the non-stick pan with a paper towel, add the olive oil and set on medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until they are brown on the outside and the inside is cooked to medium, approximately 20 minutes. Add to your tomato-based sauce and simmer for another 15 minutes to flavor the sauce with the meat and the meat with the sauce. Serve with pasta or scoop into a sub/hoagie roll for a sandwich.Cook Information Cleanup:
