These skewers are easy to make and grill. You can create wildly different variations by using different sausages and sauces. Chicken sausage and teriyaki sauce are a good one too! These can be made ahead and kept in a cooler if you’re going to be cooking them on the beach or at a tailgate. These are great to make for an easy camping dinner.

Ingredients
Makes: 6 skewers- 6 (10-inch) bamboo skewers, soaked for 30 minutes
- 1 (16 ounce) package cooked bratwurst or other sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 zucchini, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 yellow squash, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 pint button mushrooms, cleaned
- 2 cups barbeque sauce, or basting sauce of your choice
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 15 mins1. Start by soaking your skewers in water while you cut up your vegetables.
2. Put the skewers together, alternating the veggies with the sausages pieces. Set aside until ready to cook.
3. Preheat grill for medium heat.
4. Cook the skewers on the grill until the vegetables are tender and the sausage hot. Baste with BBQ sauce after the skewers have cooked for 5 minutes, then once more just before they come off of the grill.
