Tender pork skewers with major flavor from a gourmet Asian marinade. Surprise your guests with this meaty grilled appetizer or light dinner.

Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 whole star anise
- 2 orange peel strips
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 (6 ounce, 1-inch thick) boneless pork loin chops, cut in half
- 4 wooden skewers, soaked in water
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 10 mins | Extra time: 1 hour, marinating1. Bring wine, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, anise, orange zest, ginger, and red pepper flakes to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat.
2. Let the mixture boil down to reduce to about 1 cup. Measure 1/3 cup out and set aside; pour the rest into a large plastic resealable bag.
3. Add pork chops to the bag, seal, and turn to coat. Refrigerate to marinate for 1 hour. Drain and thread pork chops on skewers.
4. Preheat grill to medium.
5. Grill pork chops for about 10 minutes, flipping once, until pork reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F. Use reserved 1/3 cup marinade to brush over pork chops as they grill. Serve.
