Green mountain lemon bread, recipe Rating: 4.6

Our cake-like bread is a popular recipe.
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
lemon glaze (1/3 cup sugar dissolved in microwave in juice of 1 lemon)
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
grated peel of one lemon
Instructions: Combine dry ingredients. Combine wet ingredients, then add to dry ingredients; mix thoroughly. Pour batter into 4-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch greased loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees until toothpick inserted in center comes out dry–approximately 1 hour. Cool ten minutes. Using a chop stick or ice pick, poke 20 holes in loaf. Drizzle hot lemon glaze over loaf. Cool completely. Makes:12 slices
