Green gourd haray bharay tinday details
Ingredients
- Round gourd ( tinday) – ½ kg (large)
- Onion – 2
- Green chilies – 10
- Fresh Coriander (Hara Dhania) – 1 bunch
- Mint (podina) – ½ bunch
- Roasted Cumin Seeds (Bhunna hoa zeera) – 2 tsp
- Garlic – 6 cloves
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
- Yogurt – 250 grams
- Roasted Coriander Seeds (Bhuna hoa sabut dhania) – 1 tsp
- Dried Mango Powder (Aam choor) – 2 tbsp
- Oil – ½ cup
Instructions
- Blend onions, green chilies, fresh coriander, mint, cumin seeds, garlic and coriander seeds finely in a blender
- Cut off tops of gourds and scoop out the pulp
- Apply ½ tsp salt on gourd skins and set aside
- Mix remaining salt, dried mango powder, lemon juice and gourd pulp with blended mixture and put into the hollow gourds
- Heat oil in a pot
- Place gourds one by one, cover with lid and cook on low flames for ½ an hour
- When gourds become tender, add whisked yogurt, increase flame and allow water to dry
- Serve delicious green round gourds hot.
