Grand teton coffee cake recipe details
- Ingredients
- 2 cups soft butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups sour cream or plain yogurt
- 4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1-1/2 teaspoons cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Streusel Mixture
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract and beat well. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cardamom and salt. Alternately add flour mixture and sour cream to butter mixture and mix until just blended. Do not over mix!
Create the streusel mixture by blending all 3 ingredients. Spoon 1/3 of the cake batter into a greased bundt pan, then 1/2 the streusel mixture, the 1/3 the batter, then the remaining streusel mix, then the remaining batter. Bake 1 to 1-1/2 hours until brown on top. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when completely cool.
