Ingredients
170 g | shortening |
130 g | sugar |
1 medium | egg |
350 ml | molasses |
1 tsp | cinnamon |
½ tsp | cloves |
¼ tsp | ginger |
1 tsp | soda |
240 ml | freshly brewed coffee |
250 g | flour |
Instructions
Dissolve soda in coffee.Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg, molasses, salt, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Add coffee soda and add alternately with flour.
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Pour into a baking pan and bake for about 40-45 minutes.
