German dumplings for roast or goulash details
- Ingredients
- 1 large loaf of old white bread
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley
- 2 cups white flour
Cut bread into small cubes; add warm milk and mix well. Then add salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix again. Add onion and eggs. Mix and add flour. Mix until firm. Let stand for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Make small round dumplings and drop into boiling water for 5 minutes. Simmer for 10 minutes more. Cut in half to see if done in middle. Serve with goulash.
