George town pasties recipe details
Ingredients
600 g | pork, ground and lean |
2 tbsp | onion, chopped |
2 tbsp | flour |
1 tsp | sage, ground |
1 tsp | garlic powder |
½ tsp | pepper |
½ tsp | allspice, ground |
1 dash(es) | tabasco |
120 ml | heavy cream |
200 g | potato, cooked and finely diced |
180 g | apple, diced and mixed with 1 tbsp. brown sugar |
layer(s) | puff pastry |
Instructions
Sauté pork and onion until well cooked.Drain off grease and stir in flour. Add spices and cream and cook until thickened. Add potato and apple-sugar mixture, cook 1 minute longer and set aside.
Roll pastry out and cut into approximately 13cm or 5inch round pieces. Place 2 tbsp. of filling on each round. Fold in half to make a half-moon and pinch edges together with a fork.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 200°C for 12-16 minutes until golden brown.
