Fruit compote recipe details
Ingredients
4 | Granny Smith apples |
4 | pears |
100 g | sugar |
2 | fresh plums, pitted |
3 tbsp | fresh lemon juice |
¾ tsp | cinnamon, ground |
½ tsp | vanilla extract |
Instructions
Put whole apples and pears in a large bowl, and cover with boiling water. Let stand for 10 minutes and then drain, peel fruit, and cut into chunks.Combine apples, pears, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring often. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 8 minutes.
Gently stir in plums, and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until plums are tender. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Serve warm or cold.
