Fried goat s cheese recipe details
Ingredients
200 g | firm Greek goat’s cheese |
4 cl | ouzo |
2 tbsp | breadcrumbs |
1 tsp | dried thyme |
½ tsp | salt and pepper |
½ tsp | dried oregano |
2 tbsp | olive oil |
Instructions
Soak the cheese in the ouzo for about 10 minutes, turning around form time to time to make sure the cheese absorbs the ouzo properly.In the meantime, mix the breadcrumbs with spices and herbs. Brush a small baking dish with olive oil. Coat the cheese completely with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing on gently. Place into the baking dish and bake in the preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes.
Enjoy with bread or salad as a snack or starter or serve as a side dish with grilled meat.
Variation:
Wrap the coated cheese in aluminium foil and cook the Saganaki on the grill.
