Fried apple pies recipe details
Ingredients1. Apples (2)
2. vegetable oil (1c)
3. ground cinnamon (1/2tsp)
4. white sugar (1/3c)
5. cold water (1/2c)
6. salt (1tsp)
7. shortening (1/2c)
8. all purpose flour (2c)
9. confectioner sugar (for dusting)
Method of preparation
1. Take apples, peel and then cut them into small pieces in a bowl. Add sugar and cinnamon over the apples. Put the apples pieces in a saucepan and cook them over low heat until they get soft. Then mash them with fork to make thick apple sauce.
2. Sieve flour in a bowl, add salt in it. Cut in the shortening. Add water in it and mix it well to form dough. Then roll it on lightly floured surface about 1/8-inch thick. Cut the roll with a large cookie cutter.
3. Place 1 tablespoon of applesauce in each round. Moisten the edges with water, fold them and press them with a fork. Take a large frying pan, place it on medium-high heat. Heat oil in it.
4. Put pies in hot oil and fry for about 2 to 3 minutes from each side until they get golden brown color. Then drain the pies on pear towel and dust confectioner sugar over the pies and serve them.
