French toast with sugar and spice pecans recipe details
- Ingredients
- 12 slices SunMaidCinnamon Raisin Bread
- 6 eggs
- 2/3 cup half & half
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup plus 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 Cup coarsely chopped pecans
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- Powdered sugar
Combine eggs, half & half, 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Beat with wire whisk until thoroughly mixed. Dip bread into egg mixture and place on hot griddle. Flip when brown. French toast is done when both sides are golden brown. Meanwhile, melt butter in a small saucepan. Add remaining 1/4 cup sugar, cloves and pecans. Stir until pecans are coated and sugary. For each serving, place 3 slices of French toast on a plate. Sprinkle 1/4 of the pecan mixture over the top and give a light dusting of powdered sugar. Serve with maple syrup and fresh fruit.
